Description
LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Dental Assistant is under the direct supervision of the attending Dentist, and otherwise reports to the Dental Practice Manager.
PURPOSE: To provide, with the Dentist, four-handed assistance, and the dental staff with quality care for patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical assisting.
- Taking radiographs.
- Maintaining instruments and machinery.
- Proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments and handpieces.
- Be current on new requirements for sterilization and maintenance.
- Inventory supplies.
- Maintaining stocked dental supplies.
- Accompany patients to/from waiting area.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Water line maintenance and flushing as needed.
- Operatory infection control
- Utilize patient mouth rinse prior to any procedures.
- Verify patient's medications and health history, advise dentist.
Requirements
- MA Dental Assisting License, Radiology certification or course that meets MA requirements
- Ability to travel between multiple organizational locations as needed
- Availability for this position is at our Worthington and Huntington sites
Salary Description
$18-24.50/hr
