Are you a seasoned Dental Assistant who naturally mentors new hires and breaks down complex procedures for your team? Have you ever thought, "I could teach this better"?

We are looking for an experienced dental assistant who is ready to trade the clinic for a classroom. If you are passionate about what you do and want to instill that passion in the next generation of assistants, this is your chance to expand your scope of practice - in education!

Location: Seattle Campus

Employee Status: Full-Time | Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8am to 5 pm

Compensation: $25.88 to $32.35

Lead Responsibilities:

  • Partner with program leadership to maintain curriculum quality and accreditation standards.

  • Mentor new faculty and support students throughout their externship experiences.

  • Assist with lab inventory and supplies, and help maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

  • Use your clinical expertise to guide program improvements and foster connections with the local dental community.

What You'll Do (Teaching & Student Support):

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles.
  • Provide timely feedback (within 72 hours) on assignments and clinical performance.
  • Act as a mentor by holding office hours and promptly addressing academic/behavioral concerns.
  • Coordinate guest speakers and field trips to enhance the student experience.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and incident reports.

The Essentials (Qualifications):

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical, occupational experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program (or equivalent training recognized by CHEA/USDE).
  • Certification: Nationally Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required. (Licensed Dentists are also welcome to apply.)
  • Skills: Must be proficient in didactic and clinical four-handed/six-handed dentistry principles; must have a working knowledge of state-specific requirements for dental assisting programs.

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.

In 2015, Fred Freedman became Pima Medical’s President and Chief Executive Officer after serving the college as Chief Operating Officer. He has been with Pima Medical since June of 2000.
