Dental Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in providing care for patients, treating them with dignity and respect. • Take vital signs and review patient health history, updating as necessary. • Provide initial evaluations for emergency patients and complete medical consults. • Prepare and organize instruments and materials for procedures. • Assist in the transfer of instruments and preparation/delivery of dental materials. • Expose and process x-rays, retaking them when necessary. • Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and workspaces to ensure infection control. • Complete and review patient forms, consents, and treatment plans. • Provide patients with postoperative instructions and support. • Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning and organizing the clinic.

Dental Assistant Desired Skills and Qualifications

  1. 1 year of Dental Assistant experience
  2. Required: • Dental Radiology and CPR/First Aid certification • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and team members • Knowledge of modern office equipment systems and procedures
  3. Preferred: • Bi-lingual Spanish-speaking
