JOB TITLE: Dental Clinical Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
Dental Clinical Director in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), leads the dental clinical care delivery of the department, with a goal to combine comprehensive dentistry integrated within primary care centers, including a school-based or mobile oral health program via an integrated electronic health record platform. The Dental Clinical Director will have a demonstrated passion for excellence in full scope clinical dentistry, a general understanding of the business elements of operating a successful and diversified dental program, and the leadership skills to mentor and develop a diverse team of dentists, hygienists, and ancillary staff throughout Family Health Center. The DCD has an opportunity to participate in and influence dental policy and practice through state and national forums.

Language Skill: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read and interpret financial reports to be able to effectively assist the leadership team in managing the profitability of the organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to research data and solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate level of knowledge of using the internet, utilizing Excel spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Word software. Must have intermediate level of knowledge of utilizing Outlook software to manage schedules and communicate through the use of email to various recipients. Must be able to guide the organization in development of technology to remain competitive in the healthcare industry.
Other Skills and Abilities: Comprehends the mission of the organization which serves the medically under privileged.
Other Qualifications: Must have adequate transportation to visit various sites of the organization. Must have demonstrated success in the management of operational services of a healthcare facility. Must be able to represent the organization within the community and engage the community. Must also have proven success in working with tertiary hospitals.
