Dental Front Office Coordinator – Experienced Dental Professionals Only

Location: Brentwood, TN, Nashville, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM, with occasional Fridays
Practice Type: Periodontal & Implant Specialty Practice
Pay: $23–$27 per hour, based on dental experience and qualifications


IMPORTANT: DENTAL OFFICE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED


This is not an entry-level dental position. Applicants must have previous hands-on experience working in a dental office to be considered.


We are specifically seeking an experienced dental professional who understands the pace, terminology, scheduling, insurance, financial discussions, and patient-service expectations of a busy dental practice.


If you do not have previous dental office experience, please do not apply. Experience in a periodontal, oral surgery, implant, or other dental specialty practice is a strong plus. Cross-trained RDAs with front-office experience are also encouraged to apply.


About Our Practice


We are an established, patient-focused Periodontal and Implant Specialty Practice committed to providing exceptional clinical care and an outstanding patient experience.


We are looking for a dependable, experienced, organized, and professional Dental Front Office Coordinator to join our Brentwood team and our Nashville Team. This position requires someone who can confidently work in a busy dental environment while providing excellent service to patients, referring dental offices, doctors, and fellow team members.


Position Summary


The Front Office Coordinator is an important part of the patient experience and the daily operation of our practice. Responsibilities include patient communication, scheduling, check-in and check-out, insurance verification, financial discussions, treatment coordination support, and maintaining accurate patient information.


The right candidate will already understand the fundamentals of working in a dental office and will be comfortable learning the specific systems and protocols of a periodontal and implant specialty practice.


Key Responsibilities


  • Greet patients warmly and professionally and provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage patient scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, rescheduling, and recalls.
  • Perform accurate and efficient patient check-in and check-out.
  • Collect patient payments and discuss estimated patient portions and account balances.
  • Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage information.
  • Understand dental terminology, common procedures, insurance limitations, and benefit information.
  • Assist with dental insurance claims and follow-up when needed.
  • Communicate professionally with patients regarding treatment, insurance, scheduling, and financial matters.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, health information, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with doctors, clinical team members, and other administrative team members to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Communicate professionally with referring dental offices and outside providers.
  • Perform general administrative and front-office duties as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Be willing to assist at one of our other Middle Tennessee locations when necessary. 
Required Qualifications


  • Minimum of 2 years of recent dental office experience strongly preferred. Dental office experience is required.  Those without dental office experience need not apply and will not be considered.
  • Working knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, scheduling, insurance, and patient accounts.
  • Previous dental front-office experience with responsibilities such as scheduling, insurance verification, check-in/check-out, financial discussions, or treatment coordination.
  • Experience with dental practice-management software. Open Dental experience is a plus; experience with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar dental software is also valuable.
  • Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy specialty practice.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Periodontal, implant, oral surgery, or other dental specialty experience is a plus. Cross-trained RDAs with strong administrative/front-office experience are encouraged to apply.
