ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrate and maintain familiarity with program and course objectives.
• Prepare and deliver instruction that aligns with the assigned course objectives of the established curriculum.
• Develop, implement, grade, and provide substantive feedback for examinations, projects, assignments, and other assessments consistent with institutional and accreditation standards.
• Implement daily lesson plans and class activities to align with Program competencies.
• Utilize evidence-based teaching methodologies that support active learning, critical thinking, and professional development.
• Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Program Director and Student Services Coordinator when absences occur.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with established policies.
• Participate in curriculum review, course development, and program improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the preparation of accreditation reports, assessments, and institutional documentation.
• Monitor students' academic progress and inform the Program Director when a student's grade average doesn't meet the minimum requirement of 77%.
• Provide academic advisement, tutoring, and mentorship as appropriate to student needs in coordination with the Clinical Director and Program Director.
• Monitor students in the classroom. Ensures academic policies are adhered to by students.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings, calibration sessions, and professional development activities.
• Obtain and maintain current knowledge of dental hygiene practice, education, and research; documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments; Current knowledge of the specific subjects being taught.
• When assigned, supervise, evaluate, and support students in preclinical, clinical, and/or laboratory environments.
• When assigned, provide chairside guidance and reinforcement of didactic principles through hands-on practice.
• Evaluate student clinical and laboratory competencies using established rubrics and program standards.
• Collaborate with clinical instructors to ensure alignment between didactic instruction and clinical performance.
• Provide tutoring assistance to dental hygiene students as needed.
• Refer students to the Student Services Coordinator if assistance is beyond the instructor's scope or at the student's request. The Student Services Coordinator will assist students in identifying outside agencies that specialize in tutoring services to meet specific needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited agency that is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• Must be a dental hygienist or dentist who is a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist or dentist.
• Must hold and maintain current dental or dental hygiene licenses, certifications, or other designations and fulfill all continuing education hours, mandated training, and CPR certification as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the field.
• Scope of practice-specific certifications, as required.
• Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Hiring Range - $37.49 to $46.86
