Dental Hygienist

Onsite- Akron Children's Dental Clinic

Summary:

The Dental Hygienist provides oral health care, dental health education and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic or in School Health as prescribed by the Dentist.

Responsibilities:

• Provides oral health care, dental health education and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic or in School Health as prescribed by the Dentist.
• Contributes to the assessment of individual patient care.
• Contributes to the delivery of individual patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to provide age-appropriate care and service to patients from birth to 21 years, and selected adults.
• Participates in the educational, safety and quality efforts of the Dental Practice
• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Experience working with various levels within an organization is required.
• Strong attention to detail and concentration skills is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Experience and willingness to work with Nitrous Oxide.

Education and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an accredited dental training program or the equivalent in applicable experiences required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Certification: Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the state of Ohio is required.
• Certified in CPR is required.
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum one year of experience is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None
