Dental Hygienist Job Description
Position Title: Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Location: Arlington, TX (Private Practice)
Employment Type: Full-Time (4 days per week)
Pay Range: $50–$55 per hour (based on experience and skills)
Schedule: 4 days per week with a generous 1-hour lunch break each day
Job Summary
We are a well-established, independent dental practice in Arlington, Texas, focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality preventive and comprehensive care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our close-knit team. In this role, you will perform thorough hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and contribute to creating positive, lasting experiences that keep our loyal patients coming back.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform professional dental cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling, root planning, and polishing to remove plaque, calculus, and stains
Conduct comprehensive periodontal assessments, oral cancer screenings, and chart existing conditions
Take and interpret digital dental x-rays (bitewings, periapicals, FMX) as indicated
Apply sealants, fluoride treatments, desensitizing agents, and other preventive therapies
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, home care products, and preventive strategies
Review medical/dental histories, update patient records accurately in the practice management system
Prepare treatment rooms and instruments, ensuring strict adherence to infection control and OSHA/CDC protocols
Assist with other clinical procedures as needed and maintain a clean, organized hygiene operatory
Build rapport with patients to promote comfort, trust, and long-term compliance with care recommendations
Qualifications & Requirements
Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
Current CPR/BLS certification
Experience in general dentistry preferred (we welcome motivated hygienists with strong clinical skills and a patient-first mindset)
Excellent clinical skills with attention to detail and gentle, thorough technique
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities—patients appreciate your friendly, empathetic, and educational approach
Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a busy schedule
