POSITION SUMMARY:
A dental hygienist is an oral health professional licensed to provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services to the public. A dental hygienist's primary duties are to care for patients using an individual oral health regiment. This position has the ability to work 3-5 days/week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Health history assessment • Dental hygiene exam and charting of extra oral and extra oral conditions, including: • Periodontal charting • Dental charting • Classifying occlusion • Dental hygiene assessment and treatment planning • Remove hard and soft deposits (Calculus, Trofilan/plagleg stain) from tooth surfaces • Periodontal scaling and root planning • Administration of local anesthesia for Parx control • Apply tooth-decay preventive agents (Fluoride, sea (Ants) to the teeth • Dental hygiene nutritional and dietary evaluation • Placement of safeogival prescription drugs for prevention and treatment of periodontal disease • Expose, process and interpret dental x-rays • Place and remove periodontal dressings • Patient oral hygiene instruction to provide better health care maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid and active hygiene license to practice in the State of Maryland (Required)
