Job Title: Dental Hygienist
Location: Yonkers, NY 10701 & Manhattan, NY 10022
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $40 – $62 per hour(based on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking skilled and patient-focused Dental Hygienists to join a collaborative clinical team. In this role, you will work closely with dentists and dental assistants to provide high-quality oral care, promote preventive practices, and ensure an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform oral hygiene procedures including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Remove plaque, calculus, and stains above and below the gum line
- Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care
- Review and document patient medical histories
- Operate dental equipment, including Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) systems (where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Support inventory management and supply tracking
- Collaborate effectively with dentists, assistants, and clinical staff
- Contribute to overall patient satisfaction and clinical efficiency
Work Environment
- Clinical / dental office setting
- Use of standard dental equipment (X-rays, instruments, computers)
- Sterile, well-lit environment requiring PPE (gloves, masks, eyewear)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs
- Exposure to blood and biohazards (OSHA training required)
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on Dental Hygienist experience
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Experience with GBT equipment (required at some locations)
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Dental Hygienist (DH) License – New York
- X-Ray Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Local anesthesia certification
