Job Summary

• Delivers direct patient care using established dental hygienist procedures.
• Performs procedures associated with the conduct of a denture adhesive study.
• Performs basic clinical research procedures such as placing and removing specimens from partial dentures.
• Performs cleaning and root scaling on patients.
• Manages patient charting.
• Sets up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
• Takes digital radiographs.
• Sterilizes instruments and sets up and prepares dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required

• Associates degree in dental hygiene.
• Completion of a 2-year accredited dental hygiene program.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required

• Indiana state dental hygienist licensure upon date of hire.
• Radiology license upon date of hire.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$35.00 - $38.00 per hour based on experience and internal equity
