Clearance Requirements: National Background Check with Inquiries and Fingerprints,
and Drug Screen.
Period of Performance: Time of Award up to one (1) year.
Type of Employment: Full-time – 40 hours per week.
Estimated Pay: $54.92 per hour.
Pay Holidays: Twelve (12) Paid Holidays.
Paid Time Off: Up to 80 hours, which starts accruing on the day of hire.
Sick Leave: Up to 56 hours, which starts accruing on the day of hire.
Working Hours
The Dental Hygienist will work an estimated 16 sessions per week. Services will be scheduled between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, five (5) days a week, with a thirty-minute unpaid lunch period, excluding federal holidays. The schedule is subject to change based on the institution's variable needs and the unpredictable nature of the correctional environment.
Summary of Duties
The Dental Hygienist will provide dental prophylaxis, preventive oral health services, and periodontal services for Adults in Custody (AIC) referred by the Dental Staff and will assist the Dental Officer with other related duties.

Attire
The Dental Hygienist is expected to dress professionally at all times. The Dental Hygienist will be required to wear a uniform or scrubs. Any scrubs worn should not be Khaki or Brown. The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing and should not be tight-fitting or low-cut without an undershirt. Open-toe shoes are not permitted. In the event that the Dental Hygienist's dress does not comply with the MDC's expectations, the Dental Hygienist will not be permitted entry into the MDC. The Government will not be financially responsible for the time it takes to return to the MDC with proper clothing.
