The Dental Hygienist provides professional dental care in a vibrant group practice setting where patient care and employee satisfaction are our priorities. Dental Hygienist at La Clinica work on dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease. Responsibilities include the following:

• Performs Essential Dental Hygiene duties as defined in ORS 679.010
• Proper expose, process, and mount oral radiographs
• Properly reviews health history from a patient
• Educate patient to oral health care needs
• Assist with other clinic responsibilities as needed
• Performs periodontal probing's and record findings
• Provide appropriate periodontal services as treatment planned by the dentist
• Apply fluoride and sealants
• Administers local anesthetic agents

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum: Must possess a degree from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene
• Current license to practice hygiene in the State of Oregon
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
• Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
• Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC, EagleSoft)

Preferred:

• Expanded Practice Dental Hygiene Permit
• Nitrous Oxide Permit
• Three to five years of experience in Dental field
• Experience working in community health
• Basic knowledge of adult learning models
