Dental Sterilization Tech
Endodontics of St. Louis
We are seeking a reliable, detail oriented Dental Sterilization Technician to support our clinical team and help ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience. In this role, you will be responsible for sterilizing instruments, preparing and turning over operatories, setting up treatment rooms, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment for patient care. This position plays an important support role within the practice and may also assist the clinical or front office team as needed, including filling in for dental assistants or helping answer phones when team members are out.
Schedule: Monday- Thursday 8 AM- 3PM
*Must be able to travel to the Arnold location on Wednesdays
Responsibilities:
- Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols
- Monitor and operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.)
- Maintain proper inventory of sterilization supplies and reorder as necessary
- Ensure all operatories are properly stocked and equipped for procedures
- Support clinical team by turning over rooms and preparing them for patient care
- Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment
- Organize and store sterilized instruments in designated areas
- Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of sterilization equipment
- Assist with equipment setup and breakdown for procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate sterilization logs and documentation
- Prepare instrument trays prior to dental procedures and surgeries
- Thoroughly sterilize equipment and exam rooms in accordance with infection control policies
- Maintain communication flow with front office personnel and doctor to ensure consistence and sustain pace appropriate for daily workload
- This role is a support position it is not limited to sterilization only, at time may be asked to assist the Doctor with a procedure and at times help the front office staff (while this is not the main role we are here to support each other as a team and may require us to periodically wear different hats)
Qualifications:
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of Dental experience
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
- Experience in a clinical environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
