Associate Dentist (Part-Time) — General Dentistry + Implants, Surgery & Endo — Glastonbury, CT (Mondays + One Midweek Afternoon)
Part-Time Associate Dentist — Modern, Fully Digital General Practice (Glastonbury, CT)
Glastonbury Dental Center is a modern, independent, doctor-owned and clinician-led practice — high-tech and fully digital. The practice is led by Dr. Finch — former Assistant Dean and Director of Admissions at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, and a recipient of the New York Academy of Dentistry's ethics award. Right now, Dr. Finch is the practice's only dentist, and new-patient demand has outgrown what one clinician can see — so we're bringing on our first associate. It's a true growth hire: there's more work than we can comfortably handle alone. We're looking for a skilled general dentist to join us on Mondays, plus one midweek afternoon, providing full-scope general dentistry — fillings, crown and bridge, and the everyday restorative care that's the heart of the practice.
In addition, for patients who prefer to keep their care in-house rather than be referred out — those who, for cost, convenience, anxiety, or personal preference, decline a specialist referral — you'll also handle extractions, implant placement, and endodontics.
Dr. Finch places patient safety and ethical treatment first, always — and is a firm believer in a collaborative, team-based approach to complex care. Our specialist colleagues in oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics are an essential part of how we look after patients, and we refer to them frequently and gladly. At the same time, there are always patients who, given the choice, simply prefer to stay in-house for a root canal, extraction, or implant — and this role exists to serve them well.
-The schedule:
Mondays for general and surgical care, plus a midweek afternoon (approximately 1–5 pm, day arranged with the practice) — a great opportunity to add production while leaving time for follow-up visits when needed. And if you'd like more clinical hours or additional days down the road, we're glad to make that happen.
-This is a great fit for a confident general dentist who already has a main practice or position and wants a productive extra day or two each week — or for an experienced clinician who wants meaningful clinical work without the overhead of ownership.
- A genuinely high-tech, fully digital practice.** Cone-beam CT (CBCT), Solea all-tissue laser, CEREC digital scanner with in-house milling if desired, and a complete implant/surgical setup — all in place and ready to use, running on Eaglesoft with Pearl AI for AI-assisted radiograph diagnostics. We currently outsource our lab work, so there's real opportunity to do same-day dentistry in-house if that's something you enjoy.
- Full clinical scope, real autonomy.** No corporate quotas, no scripted treatment plans, no production dashboards. From everyday restorative to implants, you and the patient decide what's right.
- Strong, transparent compensation.** A straightforward 50% of collections, with lab and implant components split 50/50 — clean, even, and easy to verify. On lower-material procedures like endo and extractions, that's a genuinely generous split. (We'll cover the finer points, like in-house milled cases, at the interview.)
- A cushion while you ramp up.** Collections take a little time to catch up at the start, so we offer a ramp-up draw to bridge your first weeks — paid against your collections as they come in, so your early paychecks stay steady while you build your schedule. We'll settle the exact terms together at the interview.
- A strong payer mix.** We're a fee-for-service and PPO practice — in-network with a select group of carriers (including Cigna and Delta) and not participating in state Medicaid/HUSKY — which keeps per-procedure collections healthy for a collections-based role.
-Being upfront from the start
We believe in clear expectations, so two things worth stating plainly:
- This is a long-term associate position, not a partnership or buy-in track.** We're not dangling ownership — we're offering a stable, well-compensated clinical role, and we'd rather be transparent about that from day one.
- You'll never be pressured to perform a procedure you're not comfortable with.** Your clinical judgment is yours. If a case falls outside what you want to take on — for any reason — it gets referred, no questions asked. Your comfort and patient safety always come first.
-You'd be a strong fit if you
- Are licensed to practice in Connecticut and in good standing
- Are a confident, full-scope general dentist — comfortable with restorative, crown & bridge, and everyday dentistry
- Are also experienced with extractions, implant placement, and endodontics
- Can plan implant cases from CBCT imaging (experience with Solea and/or CEREC a plus, but we're happy to support you getting up to speed)
- Practice conservative, patient-first dentistry — we're the "let's see what we can save" alternative, not a high-pressure mill
- Have the midweek flexibility to commit to Mondays plus an afternoon, and want a focused schedule rather than a full-time grind
*Experience level is flexible — what matters most is solid all-around clinical skill, genuine surgical competence, and good judgment. We're happy to review case logs and training at interview.*
