    $150,000 $200,000 USD annually 

    Position Summary

    A secure healthcare facility is seeking a licensed Dentist to provide professional dental care to individuals in a correctional or institutional setting. This role includes full-scope general dentistry, program oversight, and coordination with healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide routine and emergency dental care including exams, x-rays, fillings, extractions, cleanings, root canals, and dentures

    • Develop and implement treatment plans

    • Educate patients on oral hygiene and disease prevention

    • Oversee and manage the on-site dental program, including supervision of any supporting staff

    • Coordinate with other medical professionals for referrals or complex care

    • Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures

    • Complete and manage all required documentation including dental records, reports, and logs

    • Monitor compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and internal policies

    • Provide budgetary input and manage dental-related expenses and billing documentation

    • Inspect work areas and equipment for safety and security, especially in environments with strict control measures

    • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and on-call needs

    • Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, staff, and external stakeholders

    • Attend required training, workshops, and compliance updates

    • Conduct audits and quality assurance checks on dental files and pharmacy use

    • Safeguard confidential patient information and ensure proper documentation standards

    • Comply with workplace safety practices and emergency response protocols

    • May require participation in inspections, investigations, and administrative reporting

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited dental school

    • Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of employment

    • At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Must be willing to work full-time on site

    • Valid drivers license preferred (may be required depending on contract)

    • Minimum age requirement: 18 years
