About the Role

POSITION: Dentist

REPORTS TO: Dental Director

SUPERVISES: RDH, RDA, DA

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Dentist at each site provides patient care by performing appropriate dental exams, diagnosing and prescribing care, carrying out appropriate dental/oral treatment, and referring individuals for specialty consultation. Provides direction and support to all dental staff at site location. Works as an integral part of the Provider staff by participating in dental and other staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited dental school with a current license to practice dentistry in the State of California, current CPR, and DEA certification. Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team-oriented environment. Leadership qualities, including prompt and careful decision-making and supporting attitude toward organization. Must maintain confidentiality relating to MVHC personnel, patients, and information that could result in proprietary damage to MVHC. Must possess current valid California or Oregon driver's license and auto liability insurance. Must have the ability to travel when needed to all dental sites.

STARTING SALARY: $170,000

Locations: Burney, CA or Dorris, CA

REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE:

Clean and appropriate business attire.

Maintain license.

Current CPR card.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct patient care by performing appropriate dental exams, diagnose dental/oral conditions, order x-rays/tests, prescribe and carry out appropriate dental/oral treatment, and refer individuals for specialty consultation when problems are presented outside scope of practice or ability. Record patient encounters in the patient's dental records to accurately describe the nature of the visit, condition of patient, and care/treatment provided.

Communicate effectively with the patient while involved with their dental care, including appropriate patient education while answering questions and in history taking. Demonstrate competent knowledge in delivering dental care to patients through peer review and clinic quality assurance program.

Supervise DA, RDAs and RDHs according to the standardized procedures agreed upon which defines their scope of practice while complying with all federal and state regulations and codes.

Support and contribute in a positive manner in clinic efforts to maintain and improve patient satisfaction in all aspects of dental health delivery. Work at maximum potential to meet productivity requirements in order to improve fiscal viability while maintaining quality dental care.
