Description: Our Dentists serve our community by providing the clients of Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center clinic with general dental services. The Dentist also provides the quality and productivity of dental office support personnel. Salary determined based on qualifications and experience.

Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week

Essential Functions: Conducts clinical dentistry in the dental office with support personnel. Provides the clients of Lake County with general dental services, emphasizing service for the low-income and poor clients. Advises the Dental Program leadership concerning dental office policy and procedures. Oversees the quality and productivity of dental office support personnel. Directs the operational policies of the dental office. Develops and maintains a basic knowledge of services available at the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC). Develops and maintains a basic awareness of the Chronic Care Model Processes in order to reduce health disparities within our communities. Develops and maintains a working knowledge of individual Emergency Preparedness roles. Demonstrates adherence to National Patient Safety Goals. Participates in quality improvement activities to assess, monitor and improve programs/services. Participates in quality assurance projects as well as delivers presentations to the dental staff.

• Participates in mandatory in-services and drills, attends staff meetings and other training, including appropriate age-specific educational trainings offered on a regular basis for professional development. • Reports all unusual occurrences that may involve clinical compliance and safety and well-being of the clients, and/or co-workers, directly work with clinical compliance, Safety Officer, and Dental Leadership. • Performs duties to meet or exceed productivity, quality and customer service standards. • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of clinic and work area.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education Required:

Requires a D.D.S. or D.M.D. Degree from a dental school accepted by the American Dental Association. Requires possession of a current, valid license to practice dentistry in the state of Illinois. Maintains DEA and CDS in good standings. Requires at least one year of clinical experience. GPR training is preferred. Stays current in the field of General Dentistry. Understands CDC and TJC guidelines as related to the practice of Dentistry. Ability to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime if necessary. Ability to maintain and keep records.
