What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The target hiring range for this position is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00/year, based on experience and education.

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site three days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

This position will be located at the Richard T. Castro Building at 1200 Federal Boulevard, Denver, CO 80204.

What You'll Do

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking an influential, strategic, and communicative Senior HR Business Partner to join our team and support various divisions within Denver Human Services (DHS). You will collaborate with organization leaders to reframe business challenges through the lens of the overall employee experience. This is a high impact role utilizing talent insights and organization data to help leaders develop and execute a strategic people agenda.

We are committed to delivering exemplary services to build workforce capability and drive business outcomes that best serve the public interest and Denver's most vulnerable citizens. A successful candidate will be a forward-facing advisor to business leaders, expert at developing cross-team collaborative partnerships and building effective relationships, can effectively regulate their emotions, and is passionate about solving complex workforce challenges with data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and consult with senior leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Partner with the business to develop strategies and initiatives that promote a culture of equity and engagement
  • Be the primary point of contact for HR programs, tools, metrics, and analytics impacting your organization
  • Build collaborative partnerships with the Centers of Excellence including Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Classification, Learning and Development and Benefits to recommend and inform business solution
  • Provide data analytics on our people practices informing business decisions and to tell our human capital story
  • Research, develop, and execute HR solutions that deliver measurable business results
  • Execute HR strategies, initiatives and practices that promote a strong performance culture emphasizing engagement, learning and development, talent management, and workforce planning
  • Effectively manage employee relation issues and investigation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

What You'll Bring

We are looking for candidates that have all or some of the following skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years working as an HR Professional for a complex organization and managing and investigating employee relations issues
  • Ability to hold leaders accountable and help them stand firm in their decisions
  • Experience guiding workforce planning and organizational development initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Confidence in knowledge
  • Ability to build professional relationships with a variety of people, at all levels of the organization
  • Experience providing and receiving feedback to/from leaders and employees

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Experience: Five (5) years of professional human resources experience
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
  • License/Certifications: None
