Steel Fabrication Department Manager
Customer-Facing Leadership Role
Salary Range: $80,000$130,000 (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: Annual bonus based on department profitability
Travel: Some travel required (paid per diem)

Trinity Employment. is seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Manager to lead and grow our Springfield, Missouri fabrication shop.
This position plays a critical role in expanding MCCs customer base in the Springfield market and offers a clear long-term path to executive leadership, with succession potential into a senior company role over time.
Steel Fabrication Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Operations
- Serve as overall manager of the steel fabrication shop, overseeing daily operations, production, quality, safety, staffing, and financial performance.
- Maintain full accountability for departmental P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Quantify, justify, and recommend capital investments in equipment, technology, and infrastructure.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and safety.
- Review department goals and align them with overall corporate objectives.
Steel Fabrication Manager Team Development & Management:
- Manage and grow a currently small team
- Partner with HR to coordinate and conduct employee evaluations, performance reviews, and wage adjustments.
- Establish competitive wages consistent with local trade markets and award increases based on performance and milestones.
Customer & Business Development
Technical & Fabrication Knowledge
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of:
- Stainless steel
- Mild/carbon steel
- Welding and fabrication processes
- Review equipment usage, consumables, inventory levels, and space requirements to ensure operational efficiency.
Steel Fabrication Manager Skills & Competencies:
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree and/or a minimum of 5 years of industrial or commercial construction experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and math skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedules as required
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
