Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. A minimum of three years of experience in all phases of maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel and gasoline engines and auxiliary equipment is required. Must have passed the General Knowledge Testing for the CDL at time of application. The DTPW classification of DTPW Rail Vehicle Technician (Track & Guideway) performs safety-sensitive functions and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Regulations. This position is a 13(c) protected classification and preference will be given to applicants represented by TWU.
Preferences
ASE certified is preferred.

A performance evaluation will be conducted within the first thirty (30) days of employment to assess the employees competency in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines.
The position performs advanced-level skilled mechanical work involving the diagnosis, repair, overhaul, and preventive maintenance of high-rail vehicles, rail-bound vehicles, related rail equipment, and heavy hydraulic-driven equipment. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics; testing, diagnosing, and repairing electrical circuits, components, and systems; and ensuring all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable operating condition.
