Deployed Network Support Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployed Network Support Specialist to support a company focused on expeditionary communications and network operations within the defense sector. This position is on-site in Carderock, MD. The Deployed Network Support Specialist will provide hands-on network and systems support to deployed units during planning, execution, and post-deployment phases. This role directly supports mission-critical operations by ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for forward-deployed personnel in dynamic operational environments.

Responsibilities for the Deployed Network Support Specialist include:

• Providing network engineering and technical guidance during deployment planning and execution phases
• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, Active Directory, and Exchange environments
• Delivering direct computer and network support to deployed units, including rapid resolution of operational issues
• Supporting Information Assurance (IA) training initiatives and assisting with the D-30 deployment process
• Coordinating logistics for deployment hardware and software, including transportation, import permits, foreign clearances, and post-deployment documentation

Required Qualifications for the Deployed Network Support Specialist include:

• 4+ years of experience providing network or systems support in deployed or operational environments
• Experience with enterprise networking technologies including routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, Active Directory, and Exchange
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively in high-tempo, mission-critical settings
• IATII certification & willingness to get CCNA
• Active Secret Security Clearance
