    The Opportunity: Deployment Strategist

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area | Bay Area, California | Pacific Northwest

    Reports to: Deployment Strategist

    Company Overview

A growth-stage, venture-backed technology company is expanding its customer-facing organization as it continues to scale. The company develops innovative technology solutions that help organizations improve operational effectiveness, decision-making, and execution in complex environments. The organization works closely with a range of enterprise and institutional customers to introduce new capabilities, support implementation, and develop long-term partnerships.

    Position Overview

The company is seeking a Deployment Strategist to serve as a key interface between customers and internal teams throughout the customer engagement lifecycle. This is not a traditional sales role; the Deployment Strategist will build trusted customer relationships, understand operational challenges, coordinate internal resources, support implementation, and identify opportunities to deepen and expand customer engagements.

The ideal candidate combines strong communication skills, operational credibility, business judgment, and the ability to navigate complex organizations. Successful candidates will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, coordinating cross-functional teams, and moving initiatives forward in dynamic environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own and develop customer relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer stakeholders and partners
    • Help customers evaluate, implement, and expand the use of company solutions
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow existing customer relationships
    • Coordinate with internal product, engineering, operations, and leadership teams
    • Develop presentations, proposals, briefings, and other customer-facing materials
    • Support demonstrations, workshops, executive meetings, and other customer engagements
    • Gather customer feedback and communicate priorities to internal teams
    • Build and maintain relationships with key organizations and stakeholders
    • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and partner engagements
    • Help develop repeatable approaches to customer engagement and implementation as the company grows

    Qualifications

    • Experience in a customer-facing, operational, business development, account management, consulting, or related role
    • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and navigate complex organizations
    • Strong problem-solving and business judgment
    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion
    • Comfort operating independently in ambiguous and fast-moving environments
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer engagements
    • Interest in emerging technology and solving complex operational challenges

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Military leadership experience, particularly in operational or technical communities
    • Experience in technology, government, defense, aerospace, industrial, consulting, or other complex B2B environments
    • Experience developing proposals, presentations, or customer-facing materials
    • Experience in business development, strategic growth, account management, customer success, consulting, or technology implementation
    • Experience engaging senior-level stakeholders
    • Passion for mission-oriented work and emerging technology

    Work Environment & Travel

This role involves regular travel to support customer engagements, implementation activities, demonstrations, and strategic meetings. Travel is expected to be approximately 25%–50%, depending on customer assignments and business needs. Candidates should be comfortable operating in customer-facing environments and balancing strategic responsibilities with hands-on execution.

Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus opportunities and equity participation available.
