Deployment Team Lead

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Deployment Team Lead to oversee a high-volume laptop staging and deployment project supporting a company acquisition. You'll be responsible for leading a team of 5 Tier 1 technicians through imaging, configuring, and preparing approximately 2,500 laptops, keeping the team on pace, maintaining quality, and serving as the primary point of contact between the staging floor and project leadership.

This role is built for someone who has run deployments at scale before, knows how to keep a team moving without sacrificing accuracy, and can troubleshoot quickly when things don't go according to plan.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and coordinate a team of Tier 1 deployment technicians across daily staging operations
• Set and communicate daily throughput targets; track progress and adjust assignments to stay on schedule
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for imaging failures, configuration issues, and process exceptions
• Own the staging runbook - ensure all technicians are trained on it and following it consistently
• Conduct quality checks and spot audits on completed devices before they move to distribution
• Maintain accurate records of completed units, exceptions, replacements, and inventory adjustments
• Provide regular status updates to project management on throughput, blockers, and team capacity
• Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and client stakeholders on device readiness and deployment timing
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend adjustments to improve throughput without sacrificing quality
• Foster a focused, professional staging environment - set the standard and hold the team to it

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of IT deployment, field services, or endpoint management experience
• 1+ year leading or supervising a team in a deployment, staging, or IT operations environment
• Solid hands-on knowledge of Windows OS imaging and endpoint configuration (SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, or similar)
• Proven ability to manage throughput and keep a team on target in a fast-paced, production-style environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills; you can diagnose an imaging failure or configuration issue quickly and keep the line moving
• Experience owning or working from deployment runbooks; comfortable updating documentation when the process changes
• Clear, professional communication with both technical team members and non-technical stakeholders
• Calm under pressure and decisive when things need to change quickly
