MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (MTQs):Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications.
MTQ 1: Federal Investigations and Investigative Oversight
Demonstrated expert knowledge of federal investigative principles, authorities, methodologies, and practices sufficient to direct complex investigations and investigative surveys involving allegations of violations of law, fraud, abuse, waste, mismanagement, and abuse of authority; establish investigative standards and controls; evaluate investigative findings; and develop recommendations for corrective action and prevention.
MTQ 2: Investigative Program Management and Operations
Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience managing complex federal investigative programs, including developing investigative strategies and operational plans; evaluating investigative performance and workload; managing staffing and financial resources; establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls; and using investigative data and trends to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements and resource allocations.
EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs):In addition to the Mandatory Technical Qualifications listed above, all new entrants into the Senior Executive Service (SES) under a career appointment will be assessed for executive competency against the following five mandatory ECQs. If your 2-page resume does not reflect demonstrated evidence of the ECQs and MTQs, you may not receive further consideration for the position.

Note: Applicants who are a current member of the SES, have SES reinstatement eligibility, or have completed the SES Candidate Development Program (CDP) and have had their ECQs certified by OPM must attach proof of eligibility for noncompetitive appointment to the SES (e.g. SF-50, QRB Certificate, etc.) as part of their application.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Firearms: Criminal investigators are required to carry a firearm while performing duties of this position. Maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid automobile drivers license at the time of appointment.
Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. The day immediately preceding an individuals 37th birthday will be the last day to be referred for selection consideration. However, the age restriction may not apply if you are a preference-eligible veteran or if you are currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement position covered by 5 U.S.C. § 8336(c) or 5 U.S.C. § 8412(d).
Medical Examination: Individuals must meet the established medical standards and/or physical requirement for the position, proving they are medically and physically capable of performing the essential job functions and duties of the position safely and efficiently. A medical examination will be conducted. Any disease or condition that may potentially interfere with the safe and efficient performance of the jobs duties or training may constitute grounds for medical disqualification. Medical qualification determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis. If additional medical information is recommended beyond that provided at the pre-employment examination, it is provided at the expense of the tentative selectee.

Mobility: Organizational and geographical mobility is essential in developing and managing SES leaders.
