Deputy Attorney General, Natural Resources Division, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)

Salary: Starting at $90,000 - Depends on Experience (DOE).

Primary Duties:
The Energy & Natural Resources Division of the Idaho Office of the Attorney General is seeking applications for an attorney to provide legal counsel to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). This position provides legal services regarding the interpretation and application of state and federal statutes, regulations, and policies relevant to DEQ. Provides representation to DEQ in administrative matters and civil actions in state and federal courts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Admission to the Idaho State Bar. or eligible for admission based on practice experience.
Two years of relevant legal and technical work experience or coursework.
Exceptional public speaking, computer, writing, editing, telephone, and client management skills are required.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Strong computer skills and effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of legal experience.
Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and policies.
Researching and preparing reports and recommendations.
