JOB OVERVIEW: Under supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk, provides exceptional customer service and record keeping for individuals who have business in Clermont County Juvenile Court.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under general supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk, primary duties include performing administrative and clerical duties, which often include scheduling and rescheduling matters; printing the daily docket; pulling case files; checking the case files for proper notice and service; docketing daily courtroom activities; preparing notices and serving the parties in the courtroom; appoint attorneys for indigent clients; appoint Guardian ad Litems; schedule hearings; notice to parties; responds to calls and e-mail requests; prepares file notes for the Judge or Magistrate if needed; prepares correspondence and memos; manage the daily activities of the Judge's or Magistrate's courtroom as needed.
Other duties may include, but are not limited to, performing Sheriff record checks on petitioners; must maintain an atmosphere of care, concern, and consistency in making determination as to the proper course of action; extensive contact with the public including attorneys; receipt money; provide customer service to the public by answering telephone calls and directing calls to proper staff; be able to maintain professional working relationships with partnering agencies; keep accurate records of clients served; record retention responsibilities which include imaging documents in preparation for records destruction per Ohio Revised Code, Records Retention Policy and Rules of Superintendence; sealing and expungement of court records; participate with committees as assigned.

Dress Code: All employees are expected to dress in an acceptable, professional manner, any employee who has a tattoo must make sure that the tattoo(s) is/are always covered up and not visible during work hours. Any visible body piercings, except for professional appearing ear piercing, shall not be filled with adornments during paid work hours in accordance with Clermont County Juvenile Court Personnel Policy and Procedures.
