The City of Simi Valley is seeking an experienced and collaborative municipal leader to serve as Deputy Community Services Director. This senior-level position offers an opportunity to shape and advance a diverse portfolio of community-serving programs, including senior services, library services, youth services, arts and cultural programs, and related community initiatives.
Working closely with the City Manager's Office, community partners, boards and foundations, and residents, the Deputy Community Services Director will help translate community needs and City Council priorities into innovative, accessible, and sustainable services that strengthen quality of life throughout Simi Valley.
Position Details:
Salary Range: $139,710.00 - $171,329.00 Annually + Excellent Benefits
Status: Full‑time, Regular
Schedule: 9/80 work schedule with alternating Friday off

Deputy Community Services Director
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and community-focused leader with experience overseeing diverse public-facing programs and supporting experienced managers in a complex public sector environment. They bring strong organizational, fiscal, and operational management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
The successful candidate is an exceptional communicator and relationship builder who works effectively with City executive leadership, elected and appointed officials, staff, community organizations, nonprofit partners, businesses, and residents. Experience with arts and culture, libraries, youth and older adult services, grants and external funding, boards and commissions, and community partnerships is highly valued. Above all, the ideal candidate is an innovative and adaptable leader committed to delivering accessible, responsive services that enhance quality of life and strengthen community connections.
