Summary

Entering data on the State Disbursement Unit (TXCSES Web); doing walk-throughs for pro se family law litigants on final orders; data entry, citations and judgments on tax cases; mail runs; processing jury mail; intake for passports to be sent to the passport agency; and overflow duties as assigned by Department Director or Supervisors.

Essential Duties

  • Process all e-filings for tax cases.
  • Process passports to be sent to the passport agency.
  • Submit/correct data on the SDU portal on child support cases.
  • Issue wage assignments and enter on computer.
  • Mail correspondence to custodial parents, non-custodial parents, and employers.
  • Act as backup receptionist for the office, forwarding calls to the appropriate clerk or supervisor, and answering questions for callers within the scope of your training.
  • Pull files and handle walk-throughs of final orders for pro se filers.
  • Maintain knowledge of Texas Family Code.
  • Interact with representatives of the Attorney General's Office.
  • Pickup and deliver mail to the mailroom 3 or more times daily.
  • Process jury mail by coding the correct information into the jury program.
  • Answer jury calls and return voicemails.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer data entry experience, customer service experience required.

Supplemental Information

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs. Must have knowledge of modern office equipment and filing systems. Must have knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Must be able to type or keyboard data entry at a rate of 45 net words per minute. Must have knowledge and skills to perform basic math principles. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. Must be able to prioritize tasks to be performed. Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision. Must be able to respond appropriately and professionally to requests and inquiries from the general public and courthouse personnel. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and procedures applicable to job duties assigned. Must be able to read and understand manuals, instructions and documents. Must be able to analyze various situations and determine best solution within authority delegated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and/or bend to perform essential functions. Must be able to reach, grip, and use fine dexterity to operate computer, office equipment and handle/manipulate papers. Must be able to push and pull objects. Must be able to flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees. Must be able to rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing. Must be able to place arms above, at or below shoulder height. Must have speech, hearing, and visual acuity necessary to operate computer, office equipment, and file documents and court shucks.
