Deputy Program Manager

LOCATION: Kirtland AFB, NM

JOB STATUS: Full-time

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Program Manager to support a high-impact DoD space operations effort based in Albuquerque, NM (Kirtland AFB), focused on securing advanced ground systems and mission-critical capabilities.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credential.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in deputy or operations leadership roles supporting DoD programs.

  • Proven experience in space systems sustainment, integration, or operations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain program stability and customer confidence in dynamic environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Program Manager in all aspects of program execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance tracking.

  • Provide leadership continuity and operational oversight to ensure seamless program execution and responsiveness to Government priorities.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including technical, schedule, and cost performance across all functional areas.

  • Coordinate closely with subcontractors, technical leads, and Government counterparts to maintain alignment with program objectives.

  • Lead program reviews, risk assessments, and process improvement initiatives to enhance performance and efficiency.

  • Assume full program management responsibilities in the absence of the Program Manager to ensure uninterrupted leadership and decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual, security, and regulatory requirements in support of space systems sustainment efforts.
