The Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications) is a training position that consists of learning how to supervise and direct the employees on a particular project, prepare strategic plans and budgets, develop a comprehensive project plan, and analyze statistical data.
The Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications) must have experience in technology systems integration including passive and active communication infrastructure with a proven ability to lead design and construction teams.
Responsibilities:5+ years of experience working for a telecommunications integrator or electrical contractor, with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience working on telecommunications and electronic security projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million.
Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addenda, specifications, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
Experience installing Information Transport Systems.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, sophisticated project management tools, CPM scheduling, cost modeling, and AutoCAD software.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings for electrical and security projects.
Familiarity with standard deliverables and work processes for construction and integration projects.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to act as a problem owner and problem solver.
Proven ability to effectively plan and organize personal work activities and the activities of others.
Ability to work in a diverse environment with personnel from a wide range of backgrounds.
Reliable attendance at customer sites during required work hours.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.
Up to 25% travel required; must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a satisfactory driving record.
Accubid estimating (or equivalent) directly related to electrical installations.
Primavera P6 CPM scheduling experience and proficiency (or equivalent).
Ability and willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
