Deputy Treasurer

FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS
$21.26 per hour/40 HOURS PER WEEK

Washington County is seeking a dependable and motivated Deputy Treasurer to join our Treasurer's Office team. This position plays a key role in serving the public, processing property tax payments, managing county revenues, and supporting daily financial operations. What You'll Do
-Receive and process tax payments and county revenues.
-Post payments and maintain accurate financial records.
-Prepare receipts, bank deposits, and daily balancing reports.
-Assist customers in person and over the phone with tax-related questions.
-Process electronic payments and credit card transactions.
-Research tax accounts, delinquent taxes, and refund requests.
-Support audits and maintain compliance with state and county regulations.
-Prepare financial reports and update fund balances.
What We're Looking For
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Background in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related fields.
-Two years of progressively responsible office or financial experience.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
-Strong customer service and communication skills.
-Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
-Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.
Bonus Skills
-Experience with cash handling and balancing cash drawers is a plus.
-Experience processing payments, reconciling accounts, or working with financial records is highly desirable.
