Are you passionate about skincare and patient care? We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic dermatology practice with multiple offices in Indianapolis. 

Key responsibilities may include:
  • Patient intake: Greeting patients, and taking medical histories.
  • Exam room preparation: Setting up exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensuring proper sanitation. 
  • Assisting with procedures: Helping the dermatologist during skin exams, biopsies, mole removals, lesion excisions, and cosmetic procedures like Botox injections and chemical peels. 
  • Specimen collection: Preparing and labeling skin samples for laboratory analysis. 
  • Patient education: Informing patients about skin conditions, treatment options, post-procedure care instructions, and sun protection practices. 
  • Scribing and Documentation: Accurately recording patient details, medical histories, examination findings, and treatment plans in electronic medical records. 
  • Scheduling appointments: Managing patient schedules and coordinating follow-up appointments. 
  • Inventory management: Maintaining medical supplies and ordering necessary medications and equipment. 
Required skills:
  • Strong understanding of basic anatomy and skin conditions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and proper documentation practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients effectively
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks like taking patient history and preparing patients for procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (NexTech, ModMed, Athena or Epic)
