Dermatology Medical Assistant - Full-time | 2 years experience required 

Award winning Dermatologist with an urgent full-time opening for an experienced Clinical Dermatology Medical Assistant of at LEAST 2 years experience in General or Clinical Dermatology to join our team in Silver Spring to assist Physicians with all clinical procedures - Mohs, excisions, scribing in EMA

START 1 - 2 weeks, starts with immediate Benefits (list below)

RATE $23.18/hr - $25.48/hr | based on experience

SHIFT Mon to Fri, 8a - 5p(Full-time 40 hrs/wk)

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• MINIMUM of 2 years’ recent experience within a Dermatology practice
• Proficient in suture removal,Skin Biopsies, Keloid treatment, Cyst removal, skin-tag removal, mole removal, specimen collection, Prior-Auths, prescription refills, administering medication
• Knowledge of EMR System EMA (Electronic Medical Assistant)

CLINICAL DERMATOLOGY MA RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with all surgical Dermatological procedures
• Prepare and administer medications
• Collect blood, tissue, & laboratory specimens, log & prepare for testing.
• Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vitals in EMR.
• Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing for treatment
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, wound care, and Pre & Post-Op physicians' instructions to patients.
• Examine & treat patients, hand instruments, provide injections, remove sutures.
• Authorize drug refills, provide prescription information to pharmacies
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Inspects sterile items, lay supplies out on sterile field
• Assist physician with surgical procedure while maintaining sterile field
• Assess patients condition throughout exam, procedure or surgery
