Job Summary
The Assistant Designer will assist Design team with the execution of garments in the Johnny Was line. They will also collaborate with cross - functional teams such as sewing and patternmaking to ensure completion of line.

          

Position Overview:

Examples of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Below duties are all given with guidance and need approval from Design Director:
• Sketches for any new styles /update when needed
• Assist in Scarf developments
• Help cleaning the artworks and fabric/trim developments under the supervision of VP of Design and Design director
• Assist on any revision that is requested by Design Director
• Creating/updating boards for prints, PFD and scarves
• Organizing fabric racks and preparing for meeting
• Check when scarf dups come and organize them by delivery
• Order fabrics or anything needed for JWC
• Order dups for scarves, scarf garments and prints
• Communicate with China when there are any comments with correction and revision on garments or fabrics
• Drops for scarf garments and prints
• Putting in styles on RLM
• Gathering fabrics and trims for fitting
• Help to create line sheets
• Shipping (international/domestic) / receiving
• Perform other duties as necessary

Accountability:
This position is accountable for the efficient follow through on the entire design process from taking direction from Design Director and working closely with other members of the Design team to ensure garment is made correctly and in a timely manner.

Pay is based on multiple factors, such as qualifications/skills/experience, geography, and state and local wage laws. In addition, bonus and/or commission and benefits including healthcare, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and product discounts may be offered.

Range for the position is $24 - $34 per hour
