Pay Range: The pay range for this job is $50000 - $75550 annually; actual pay is dependent on experience and geographic location.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Design Assistant for our Denim & Bottoms category. The candidate should have strong research, organizational, and foundational design skills. The Design Assistant will support all phases of the design development process from initial concept through production while learning the product creation process and Ralph Lauren design standards.
- Support the design development process, research, and design execution for bottoms within the classification or brand as defined.
- Assist with market and product research, style development, and material organization in line with product briefs and seasonal concepts as directed by the design team.
- Support research related to trends, functionality, fabrics, trims, colors, prints, and silhouettes.
- Assist with product information sharing and organization of design assets for cross-functional partners.
- Support design team workflow through maintenance of design templates, presentation materials, and digital files.
- Assist with sketch updates, CAD organization, and maintenance of accurate digital files and folders.
- Help organize seasonal sample libraries, design materials, and research resources
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research mood images, vintage garments, prints, colors, and silhouettes each season and organize references for the design team.
- Develop an understanding of the Ralph Lauren aesthetic with attention to detail and product quality.
- Support design research and assist with translating inspiration into sketches and design concepts.
- Assist with preparing seasonal design boards, presentations, and meeting materials.
- Create and update sketches, flats, and CADs under the direction of the design team.
- Support CAD coloring and renderings in Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Assist with creating mock-ups, treatment concepts, and presentation materials to support design reviews.
- Help prepare and maintain Tech Packs and ensure design information is updated as directed by the team.
- Update sketches, CADs, and design files as revisions occur throughout the season.
- Support weekly merchandising updates and maintain corresponding design records.
- Assist with plaid, stripe, print, and graphic file preparation.
- Help review, organize, and track production samples, strike-offs, and submits.
- Maintain organization of seasonal design materials, samples, trims, fabrics, and reference libraries.
- Attend fittings and support updates to sketches, BOMs, and design documentation.
- Assist with communication and information sharing across product development partners.
- Support design team projects, administrative tasks, and day-to-day operations as needed.
- Organize and maintain both physical and digital design archives, samples, and materials.
- Maintain seasonal digital files, folders, and design resources.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Internship, academic project experience, or exposure to fashion design, product development, or merchandising preferred.
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Strong sketching and illustration skills.
- Understanding of garment construction and product development fundamentals preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and follow-up skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced design environment.
- Passion for fashion, product creation, and the Ralph Lauren brand.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Affinity and passion for the brand and category.
- Familiarity with AI-supported design tools and openness to integrating emerging technologies into the creative process.
