OverviewBuck Mason is looking for a full-time Design Director specializing in women's wovens. The ideal candidate has a love of the timeless classics and a passion for interpreting garments for the modern customer. The Design Director will oversee the full woven assortment, including soft wovens, tailoring, and leather. An obsession with quality, fabric, and fit is a must. The Design Director will be responsible for developing design concepts, managing day-to-day design functions, and delivering best-in-class product. Candidates should possess a passion for creative ideas and devotion to details.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure design integrity and consistency across all woven product linesCollaborate with EVP of Design to lead the design team from concept through executionOversee fittings and construction, maintaining exceptional standards in garment executionCollaborate closely with merchandising, production, and technical design teamsSource and develop fabrics and trims with a strong emphasis on quality, hand feel, and longevityIncorporate vintage inspiration into a modern, relevant product offeringManage, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering growth and accountabilityMaintain calendar deadlines and ensure timely delivery of all design milestonesQualifications10+ years of experience in luxury, designer, or high-end contemporary womenswearProven leadership experience managing and developing design teamsExceptional taste level with a strong, point-of-view aestheticDeep knowledge of garment construction, pattern, and fitAdvanced understanding of fabrics, particularly woven textiles and leatherStrong vintage knowledge across both designer and traditional categories; ability to translate references into modern productHighly proficient in Adobe Creative SuiteStrong organizational and communication skillsPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and collaborative mindset$135,000 - $165,000 a yearHere at Buck Mason, we\'re all about transparency and fairness, especially when it comes to compensation. While the base salary range for this role is $135,000-165,000 per year, your total compensation package may include commissions, bonuses and other perks tailored to your performance and dedication to our craft.Buck Mason designs updated, modern American classics for daily wear.
