Design Engineer 1 (92317-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Engineer 1. The work will be done onsite in Peoria, IL. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $32/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Design Engineer to support concept development and product design initiatives within a collaborative engineering team. This role focuses on 3D modeling, reverse engineering, and maintaining engineering drawings while working on innovative components and systems. The engineer will utilize advanced tools such as 3D scanning and CAD software to develop and refine designs. This position offers hands-on experience with both digital modeling and physical components in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform 3D scanning and reverse engineering of components to support design development
Create and modify 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo
Support concept design and product development activities
Maintain and update engineering models, drawings, and documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and purchasing to support design initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
13 years of relevant design engineering experience (internships accepted)
Proficiency in Creo or similar 3D CAD software
Experience with 3D modeling, drawing creation, and design fundamentals
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Teamcenter (or similar PLM systems)
Exposure to 3D scanning or reverse engineering processes
Experience working with manufacturing or production environments
Strong organizational skills and ability to learn quickly
Experience in heavy equipment or industrial design environments preferred
