Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $41/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Design Engineer to support the development of advanced cooling system components and technologies used in industrial equipment applications. This role will focus on the design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of cooling system products from concept through production. The engineer will work closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturing requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to new product development initiatives while gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop new cooling system components and assemblies using 3D CAD modeling tools
• Create, modify, and release engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Coordinate prototype builds, testing activities, validation efforts, and design analysis to ensure product performance and quality
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, buyers, and cross-functional engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver production-ready solutions
• Support supplier development, product cost analysis, technical reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 3–4 years of engineering design experience in mechanical systems, components, or product development environments
• Strong experience with Creo CAD software, including 3D modeling, drafting, assemblies, and engineering drawing creation
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Experience creating and maintaining engineering documentation, specifications, and design releases
• Knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, product development processes, and engineering problem-solving techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing cooling systems, thermal management systems, or related mechanical components
• Experience with Teamcenter product lifecycle management processes and engineering release procedures
• Familiarity with thermodynamics, thermal simulation, structural analysis, and prototype testing methodologies
• Experience supporting supplier development, manufacturing readiness, and product validation activities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality and schedule commitments
