Leads the development and optimization efforts around refrigeration sub-systems to support new product introduction efforts within Portfolio Solutions Business Units. Prepare new refrigeration sub-system and components for inclusion into Hussmann Product Life-Cycle Management Tools by Product Verticals. Develop test requirements to support the evaluation objectives, interpreting the results, and documenting the testing activities to direct and assist R&D evaluation teams.
Responsibilities:Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of product families within a product domain. Strong knowledge of how they interact with the other product domains in the portfolio.
Technical Judgment (Problem Solving): Presentation of multiple solutions and effective reasoning around final selection shown.
Business Acumen: Leading efforts to improve the financial impact of engineering activities on the business and thorough understanding of how other functions impact the business.
Autonomy: Manages workload independently with only general direction. High level of accountability to assigned teams. Generates new projects independently.
Project Impact: Responsible for managing and completing large system projects having strategic platform impact. Strategic design direction around system engineering.
Team Interaction: Technical leadership of projects throughout the business.
Refrigeration System Knowledge: Able to coach others on systems and cycles. Deep understanding of impacts related to component selections, controls, and other integrations. Perform thermodynamic modeling, and physical prototype testing for new refrigeration technologies and system architectures.
Tools: Solid Edge and Team Center expert. Tool experts. Ability to handle preparation and presentation on technical evaluation of concepts to audiences of varied technical expertise.
Technology and IP: Develop new refrigeration technologies from early readiness levels through demonstration phases and new product development phases to drive business growth. Generate new IP for Hussmann growth.
External Customer Interaction: Interacts widely with external customers and bodies.
Developing Others: Effective at mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
5+years related engineering experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
