Quality Engineer
Summary: Responsible for supervising the Quality function at the plant level and ensuring adherence to the corporate Quality Management System (QMS). This role champions quality initiatives, provides training, analyzes quality data, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. The position also supports continuous improvement efforts and represents the Quality Department in plant projects while promoting corporate priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This position reports to the Corporate Quality Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises the Quality Technician(s) at their home plant.
Travel: Travel to other MPI facilities is required, including occasional international travel. Travel to customer and supplier sites as needed.
Confidentiality: Includes access to manufacturing equipment and processes, product drawings, product costs, customer and supplier lists, and process data.
Education Required: A bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred. A Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred. Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Experience Required: 5 years’ experience developing and managing the Quality System in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of corrective actions, returned goods management, PPAP, data analysis, mistake-proofing, problem-solving tools, and quality data collection systems. |
