Design Engineer III

Summary:

• Location: New Hudson, MI
• Duration: 3 Months

Responsibilities:

• Lead product and system design and development.
• Focus on mechanical system and product design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA).
• Engage in system physics modeling and characterization.
• Develop CAD system and component concepts and packaging.
• Apply linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization.
• Generate technical drawings and prepare project status reports.
• Conduct test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R).
• Guide lower-level engineers.
• Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE, and project management skills.
• Prepare technical specifications and develop testing methods and procedures.
• Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.
• Investigate alternative business opportunities.
• Function as system-level primary customer contact in some scenarios.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of engineering employment experience.
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Creo, NX, and/or Catia CAD software.
• Experience with Ansys Mechanical Workbench.
• Familiarity with Structural design (frame, brackets, subframes).
• Design for Additive Manufacturing and Windchill PDM/PLM.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
