Design Engineer III or IV 

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.


Summary:  This senior level position leads the design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems typically interfacing with military platforms including aircraft. Provides significant technical leadership, mentors junior staff, and manages cross-functional collaboration to ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
 
Responsibilities/Skills:   
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems consisting of CCAs, printed circuit boards and/or firmware.
  • Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing products.
  • Determine and document hardware and data input/output and system requirements.
  • Design, develop, test, modify, install, and update embedded software and firmware. 
  • Evaluate system and software designs, equipment, and techniques and make recommendations for design improvements.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.(Associates degree and 9+ years electronic design experience may substitute Bachelor's degree.)
  • 6+ years experience in electrical/computer engineering
  • Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, MIL-STD-1553, etc.) required.
  • Extensive experience with Altium Designer required.
  • Strong background in CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) hardware and PWB (Printed Wiring Board ) development required.
  • Must be able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams and to organize and prioritize tasks and activities.
  • Encryption hardware experience a plus.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.
