Job Summary:

The Design Engineer will transform product ideas into functional prototypes and production parts using cost-effective methods. They'll continuously enhance designs for better manufacturability, cost efficiency, and functionality.

Key responsibilities include creating design briefs, researching production methods, refining designs using engineering software, incorporating feedback from manufacturing teams, and collaborating with the supply chain for implementation and cost updates.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilize SolidWorks CAD software for effective design communication, including 3D models, 2D drawings, assembly prints, and Bills of Materials.
Conduct thorough peer reviews to optimize product designs.
Collaborate with sourcing/purchasing to ensure supplier compliance with design specifications and adjust designs for manufacturability.
Develop detailed drawings and maintain a strong understanding of Bills of Materials to ensure consistent quality standards.
Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure efficient production and create engineering assembly instructions.
Conduct usability tests and refine products based on results.
Generate multiple design prototypes using computer-aided design tools.
Assess design solutions against industry standards and regulations.
Document the design process and present progress reports to stakeholders.

Experience and Education:

Requires 3+ years' experience in designing production products.
Automotive product development
Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial design.
