Position Overview

The company is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop hands-on product design experience within a globally recognized industrial manufacturer. You'll contribute to the design, development, and improvement of spray nozzles, headers, lances, and related fabricated components while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of spray nozzles, manifolds, headers, lances, and custom fabricated assemblies using 3D CAD software
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, models, and bills of materials in accordance with design standards and tolerances
  • Support the development of new products from concept through production, including design reviews, prototyping, and testing
  • Perform engineering calculations related to fluid flow, spray performance, pressure drop, and material selection
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, applications engineering, and sales teams to translate customer requirements into viable product designs
  • Assist with design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure efficient and cost-effective production
  • Support testing and validation activities to verify product performance against specifications
  • Maintain accurate documentation including design files, test reports, and project records
  • Research materials, components, and manufacturing processes to support design decisions
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing product lines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience (internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or product design environment a plus)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerancing, and GD&T
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and documentation practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits

Preferred:

  • Exposure to fluid mechanics, hydraulics, or spray technology
  • Experience with CAM software or manufacturing processes such as CNC machining or injection molding
  • Familiarity with FEA or fluid simulation tools
  • Experience working in a product development or manufacturing environment
