Build what moves industry.
At General ThermoDynamics, we design and manufacture heat exchangers and thermal systems for demanding industrial applications. As a Design Engineer, you’ll turn customer requirements into robust, manufacturable designs—partnering with Applications and Manufacturing Engineering to launch reliable products on time and on cost.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs for heat exchangers and components.
  • Apply thermal, structural, and fluid-flow principles to meet performance and reliability targets.
  • Collaborate across Applications, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations from concept to release.
  • Support feasibility, prototyping, validation testing, and ECN/ECO processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement across designs, materials, and methods in a hands-on manufacturing setting.

What You Bring

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
  • 3+ years of design experience in thermal systems, heat exchangers, or fabricated metal products is a plus.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T; strong design-for-manufacture mindset.
  • Familiarity with ASME/TEMA/API codes and shop processes (welding, sheet metal, machining) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Office and manufacturing floor exposure; occasional standing/walking and lifting up to 25 lbs (PPE provided).
  • Occasional overtime to meet project milestones; up to 10% travel.

Why Join Us

  • Impactful engineering work in real-world industrial applications
  • Cross-functional collaboration with direct line-of-sight from design to production
  • Opportunity to grow with a company dedicated to quality, safety, and innovation
