Seeking a hands-on Project/Design Engineer to lead customer-driven product development projects from concept through production. This role combines engineering design, customer interaction, project management, and manufacturing support to deliver high-quality molded products and engineered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop plastic products, molded components, foam cushioning systems, and engineered assemblies.
Work directly with customers to understand requirements and translate them into manufacturable designs.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams throughout the product development process.
Manage projects from concept through testing, validation, launch, and production.
Coordinate timelines, resources, material requirements, and project deliverables.
Support product testing and validation activities to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
Facilitate communication between customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Prepare project updates, technical documentation, and engineering reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, new technologies, and manufacturing enhancements.
Provide technical support for capital projects, equipment implementation, and capacity expansion initiatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and mentor less-experienced engineering team members.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related discipline.
Alternatively, significant hands-on experience in plastics product design and manufacturing may be considered.
Experience with plastic processing technologies, ideally rotational molding.
Strong CAD modeling skills and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles.
Excellent project management, communication, and customer-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
Must be eligible to work within ITAR-regulated environments.

Product development in industrial, transportation, military/defense, consumer, packaging, automotive
Experience working closely with customers on custom-engineered solutions.
Background in molded plastics manufacturing and new product introduction.
