Become a Design Process Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll lead a team responsible for enabiling our planning and design organizations through effective Design Support Updates/Notes (DSU/DSN) and support for escalated issues.

This role oversees the business requirements, creation, updating, retirement of DSU/DSN's to ensure that the planning teams can execute their daily work efficiently and consistently. The manager serves as a strategic partner to planning, operations, other stakeholders and senior leadership by aligning processes, documentation, and communications with business priorities and operational needs. Success in this role requires strong leadership in a matrixed environment, the ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously, and a commitment to a high-quality customer support, sound decion-making, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Manages the implementation of energy program requirements and delivers tangible reliability and cost saving results for the company, managing and tracking budget utilization to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and budgets.
• Manages the development, maintenance, and documentation of model input data and assumptions to ensure consistent use of data.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the development of policies and guidelines that enable broader strategies and objectives.
• Identifies opportunities for improved analyses of data while prioritizing, developing and implementing improvements, including automated tools for monitoring and reporting operations data.
• Manages employee performance and establishes performance expectations and goals aligned with company objectives, policies and procedures.
• Provides leadership to teams responsible for the planning, scheduling, and closing of programs. Oversees contractor performance to ensure budget, schedule and quality performance objectives are met.
• Contributes and influences the appropriate management of a $500M budget through oversight of contractor performance in the areas of safety, compliance, customer satisfaction, financial, quality improvement, and schedule adherence.
• Develops and manages resource strategy to ensure both short-term and long-term success of the program. Manage contractor performance and develops and implements action plans/corrective action to ensure goals/targets are achieved.
• Leads the development of business requirements, testing and implementation of new technologies accordingly to the program.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising energy delivery.
• Experience in preventing electrical service interruptions.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a related discipline.
• Experience in a Design/Planning organization, with a broad understanding of Transmission and/or Distribution Planning business functions, capital work system flow (including the IPSEC model), and deep working knowledge of planning and design tariffs and processes.
• Demonstrated success partnering with business stakeholders to resolve and improve processes and translate operational needs into sustainable technical solutions.
• Strong project leadership experience in a matrixed environment, including managing multiple concurrent initiatives, allocating resources, driving decisions, and delivering results on time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing and governing process documentation, newsletters, training content, and communications for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop subject matter experts, support classroom or on-the-job instruction, and build a high-performing, team-oriented culture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with experience identifying, managing, and resolving major or complex issues.
• Strong understanding of Distribution and/or Transmission Design Standards and related planning/design practices; knowledge of pricing rules, contract costs, and practical engineering principles is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and effectiveness under heavy workload, while collaborating across cross-functional teams and supporting internal and external customers.
• Experience serving as a lead or senior SME for business process and system improvement efforts, with regular interaction with senior leadership.

Additional Information

• The position's work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Hiring organizations can add further requirements related to specific jobs.
