The AC Martin Internship Program aims to enrich the education of architecture students through year-round internship opportunities. Our extensive experience in architecture, interiors, and planning provides hands-on experience on real projects, through collaboration with our design teams and clients.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

• Career Skills Students will gain insight and exposure to the AEC industry and relevant skills for their career path. • Interns are embedded in real projects, experiencing real-world application of their skills. • Experiencing multiple phases of the project, inclusive of a Construction tour. • Exposure to professional practice and the dynamics, structure, and operations of a mid-sized architectural firm. • Mentorship Interns work and learn under frequent supervision of a full-time professional AC Martin employee and will be assigned a mentor to ensure the goals of the internship are met. AXP / ARE Accrue AXP hours, gaining experience in basic areas of practice. Access to ARE study materials.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tasks include, but are not limited to: • Exhibits design curiosity and willingness to explore options and translate ideas to concepts. • Assist both physical and digital model making. • Supports client presentations through work product. • Ability to conduct research and identify technical problems related to design. • Contributes to drawing sets at all phases. • Performs assignments under direction with the ability to influence design. • Work flexibly within fast-paced project environments.

REQUIREMENTS

3 or more years of relevant work experience or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent is required. A high-quality design portfolio and relevant work experience preferred. Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering programs required - Rhino, V-Ray, Enscape and Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign). Revit experience is preferred. Knowledge of requirements for various stages of design including concepts, schematic design, design development, and construction administration. The ability to develop design options in collaboration with design teams and to take initiative in response to direction from Project Leadership.
