Product Design Manager - CAD (Custom Structures & Fabrication Design)

CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a hands-on Product Design Manager with strong CAD expertise to lead design efforts supporting custom-built structures. This role is ideal for a leader who can balance design execution with team coordination, ensuring projects move efficiently from concept through production.
You will oversee design workflows, partner cross-functionally, and ensure high-quality, production-ready designs in a fast-paced, fabrication-driven environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Design Leadership & Oversight
Lead and prioritize design workflow to meet deadlines and production demands
Review and approve CAD drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, and manufacturability
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with sales teams to translate customer requirements into technical designs
Work closely with production to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with build processes
Process & Production Support
Drive continuous improvement in design processes and efficiency
Support manufacturing by resolving design challenges and adjusting drawings as needed
Graphics & Fabrication Coordination
Oversee creation and application of graphics using tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Support fabrication processes, including CNC-based pattern cutting and material preparation
What You Bring
2+ years of AutoCAD experience (required), with strong design leadership capability
Experience managing workflow, priorities, or small teams in a production environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate, production-ready designs
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with 3D CAD tools
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator
Background in custom fabrication, construction, or manufacturing environments
Work Environment
Monday through Friday, standard business hours
Occasional weekend work based on project demand
Onsite, collaborative production environment
